DIY Floater Frames for my Original Oil Paintings & Hard Panel Prints

1. Wiring the frame: (You want to wire the frame prior to adhering the painting to the frame.)
I use a portable hand drill to make the holes in the frame for the screw eye because the frames' wood is very hard. Although prior to purchasing my drill I would tap a starter hole with a nail then use a screwdriver to screw in the screw eyes.
Measure wire, cut wire about 2-3 inches longer than you need for frame and loop thru the screw eyes, twisting the extra wire length around itself for added strength.
2. Attaching the canvas panel painting or hard panel print to frame: (From experience: make sure you check which end is top of painting before GLUEING!)
Apply a thin bead of glue to the frame ledge where the painting will sit.
Place the painting FACE UP! Apply a bit of pressure to opposite corners so that the painting sits squarely on the frame.
Let cure for AT LEAST 72 HOURS. I am a super cautious person, so I always wait a bit longer to hang the painting.)
After the glue is cured, hang it, and the art is now yours to enjoy!
