Coming Home This Weekend!
“Dilworth Splash - No. 2 - Joy for Uncertain Times”
Oil on Stretched Canvas. 24x18 inches.
This Painting has been on loan to the National Liberty Museum for almost a year! The show, "Philadelphia's Freedom" was organized during the Pandemic. But, the show must go on, so the show hung for a really long time to accommodate Covid restrictions regarding museum capacity, hours, etc., etc.
The show was awesome - all different artist's interpretations of what does Freedom Mean to them!
I painted "Dilworth Splash No. 2 - Joy for Uncertain Times" as my response! The Pandemic had just taken hold, and the world was looking very grim. I thought making a painting about Joy would brighten, not only my outlook, but perhaps other folks' outlook as well. So, at the time, I could not think of a better theme for Freedom than children running freely through the fountains at Dilworth Plaza.
I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I enjoyed making it!

I know I will enjoy seeing it up close and personal again!
