I had a lot of fun drawing with Young Girl as part of a 30-Day Drawing Challenge. She reminds me a lot of me at that age.

If you follow my work, you have probably noticed I generally paint/draw females with darker hair and darker skin tones. (Marilyn Monroe being the exception!) During the years that I was growing up, one seldom saw girls or women with dark hair or skin. All the beautiful folks were blonde, blue-eyed with fair complexions. So, growing up, my perception is that my looks were inferior. I hope times have changed a bit for young folks. I know it took a long time for me to see myself.

I hope you love this “Young Girl with Dark Hair” as much as I loved making it.

Pay What You Decide: Suggested Minimum price: $150.00
