What is an Ekphrastic Art Show?
"EKPHRASTIC: a poetic description of, or commentary on, a visual work of art"
The Manayunk-Roxborough Art Center concludes its series of 2018 exhibitions with "Ekphrastic," a unique collaboration between MRAC CoOp Artists and Writer-Poet members.
MRAC Writer-Poets are invited to choose Artist CoOp works that speak to them and create new poems and written pieces around those works. This marrying of art and poetry results in an explosion of creativity in the MRAC community.
This is my favorite show of the year!
I love to hear the Poets’ interpretation, thru verse, of all the various paintings!
