The Story of "Coxe Park Friends"

This painting is a commission by a young family that loves the Coxe Park Playground and whose son has played there since he was a toddler. It is an honor for me to paint this lasting memory of Coxe Park for their home.

My goal for this painting is for you to hear the children's laughter and experience their joy and fun.

Coxe Park is a delightful “old school” playground that is a fun place for countless local families enjoying hours of fun and play on the jungle gym, teeter-totter, and swings at this "pocket" park located in the Logan Square section of Philadelphia.

Don't let "pocket" park fool you, this park may be pocket-sized but it basks in "stadium-sized" love and support from the many families that visit each year.

Art Brings People Together. I believe folks appreciate art in which they can see themselves and their own experiences. I also like to think art & music inspire us see beyond ourselves and our own four walls to enjoy a moment in time, where all our worries disappear. Please take notice of the art in everyday life. Go listen to some local music. Go look at some local art. Not just my art, but any kind of art. Get crazy, look at art that is new to you. Look at art that you are familiar with. Use art to understand the crazy world in which we live. Use art to appreciate the most important art of all, the art of being human. Oh, and if you want some art for your home or office, invest in local artists, like me!

I take every step to ensure this online image is as accurate as possible to the original painting. However variations in color may occur due to monitor differences.
