The Story of Women Who Shatter Barriers

2018 is the Year of Women. So...to build on that momentum, I am creating mixed media portraits of woman I admire for their courage, brilliance and heart. "Malala" is the second of this series.

Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai wrote an anonymous diary about life under Taliban rule in north-west Pakistan. She was shot in the head by militants for daring to go to school. In 2014 she became the youngest person ever to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Malala continues to spread her message of gender equality throughout the globe. Wise beyond her years, her bravery and courage continues to inspire young girls and women worldwide.

My Multi-media Process

"Malala's" background is compilation of quotes by Malala layered with color and texture. I create the background image digitally with photoshop. I then print, adhere, and prime the background on a 8x10 inch canvas panel. I paint the subject of the portrait with oil paint over the primed background. I varnish the entire painting when the painting is completely dried and cured.

I use the highest quality artist oil paint and varnish. The original multi-media painting arrives at your home framed and ready to hang.

I take every step to ensure the image is as accurate as possible to the original painting. However variations in color may occur due to monitor differences.

In addition to the original painting, you can order canvas & paper prints in various sizes. Click the “Select Options" drop down menu for sizes and price.
