“Yellow Umbrella”
The Kiss
I often look to the past for inspiration in my art, for this painting, I chose the theme of "the Kiss."
The theme of "the Kiss" has inspired artists throughout history. From Rodin to Brancusi to Klimt.
I also like to juxtapose complementary colors as you can see in "Yellow Umbrella." The bright yellow umbrella stands out among the complementary blues of the rainy background.
I hope this painting brings a smile to your face!
It is a joy for me to share “Yellow Umbrella” with you!
I hope this painting gives you joy!
As always, I had to make it. I had to share it. Please enjoy it as much as I enjoy creating it. Let me know your thoughts!

Time-lapse work in progress video (27 seconds). It was a crazy evening while I was painting “Yellow Umbrella” This video starts and stop around the middle of the painting.!
A few glitches in the studio….
First I forgot to turn on the video button to make the Time-Lapse. At some point, I realized I forgot and started the time-lapse (where this video begins). Then after a bit. The electricity went out! You can see the video stops and the canvas gets a bit dark. Luckily the electricity went back on in a few hours. So I started to paint again—totally forgetting I need to start up the time-lapse. And, I forgot to wear my apron, so at some point, I noticed I was not wearing my apron and I looked down - and there was a good amount of oil paint on my shirt! Ha, So the time-lapse you see here takes place in about the middle of the process of the painting!
