Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce in a Can for a Covid Thanksgiving
“Cranberries in a Can for a Covid Thanksgiving”
Thanksgiving 2020 will be remembered.
Our family is celebrating Thanksgiving separately in our own homes this year.
Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce in a can will be served at our table!
Homemade Cranberry Relish (Not Jellied in a Can) is a Thanksgiving & Christmas fave at our dinner table each year.
The time-tested recipe for Cranberry Relish is the polar opposite of Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce in a can! Thanksgiving is usually celebrated at our home and I generally make the Cranberry Relish. It’s quite an elaborate production that includes jello, and chopping and chopping of various fruits and celery. There are about a million steps and it’s very labor-intensive.
My husband jumped at the chance to include his favorite Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce in a can for our 2-person table this year. I did not object!
I have been making Cranberry Relish each Thanksgiving for many years. Covid and 2020 have disrupted that tradition. It’s that kind of year!
While looking for inspiration to paint something for Thanksgiving this year, I did not have to look beyond my own kitchen pantry!
As you can see, I painted a can of Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce. I’m not a photorealist nor a pop artist. But, somehow I could not think of a more fitting painting for the 2020 Tarkoff Thanksgiving.
Ha, to top it off, I told my mom that Bruce bought canned and jellied cranberry sauce. She said she is also serving Cranberry Sauce from a can! Will wonders never cease!
I had fun with this painting. I hope you get a chuckle from it. I hope you are safe and well this Thanksgiving. Have a Happy Thanksgiving no matter who you are with or how you are celebrating! Give Thanks that our planet is still circling the sun and enjoy the day.
Stay Safe. Stay Well. Happy Thanksgiving!
As always, I hope you can escape your daily life for a few moments while looking at my art. I hope my paintings communicate the most important art of all — the art of being human.
Please enjoy this painting as much as I enjoy creating it. Let me know your thoughts!
I take every step to ensure this online image is as accurate as possible to the original painting. However, variations in color may occur due to monitor differences.
