“Cranberries in a Can for an Unusual Thanksgiving”
Thanksgiving 2020 will be remembered.
Our family celebrated Thanksgiving 2020 separately in our own homes.
HOMEMADE Cranberry Relish is a Thanksgiving & Christmas fave at our dinner table each year.
The time-tested recipe for Cranberry Relish is the polar opposite of Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce in a can! Thanksgiving is usually celebrated at our home and I generally make the Cranberry Relish. It’s quite an elaborate production that includes jello, and chopping and chopping of various fruits and celery. There are about a million steps and it’s very labor-intensive.
I have been making Cranberry Relish each Thanksgiving for many years. Covid disrupted that tradition. Along with everything else!
While looking for inspiration to paint something for Thanksgiving 2020, I did not have to look beyond my own kitchen pantry!
As you can see, I painted a can of Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce. I’m not a photorealist nor a pop artist. But, somehow I could not think of a more fitting painting for the 2020 Tarkoff Thanksgiving.
Ha, to top it off, my mom also served Cranberry Sauce from a can in 2020! Will wonders never cease!
