If you have visited Santa Fe, NM, then you are probably familiar with Canyon Road.!
Canyon Road is an art district/road in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with over a hundred art galleries and studios exhibiting a wide range of art, including Native American art and antiquities, historical and contemporary Latino art, regional art, international folk art, and contemporary art.
The subject of my painting is an artist sitting outside his studio strumming his guitar on a beautiful fall afternoon. The eclectic surroundings of this studio set it apart from many of the other more typical studios/galleries on Canyon Road. That is why I had to paint it!
I hope I captured the eclectic, weathered, vibe of this artist studio. From the chair sitting among high grasses to the “NO Parking” sign in the foreground.
Please note the beautiful wood door in the background. It’s old, weathered and resplendent at the same time!
