“Peace”

In honor of July 4th, 2020! I painted this little girl - she’s got character, confidence & spunk! It was a tricky painting to convey the character of this young girl with her peace symbol gesture and her blue guitar and matching hair ribbon!

July 4th, 1776 was just the beginning of the great experiment in democracy! Upon winning independence from England, the new country had a tough beginning. The founding fathers all had different ideas about how to run the new democracy! Nothing has changed!

Let’s all try for PEACE! Let’s all take responsibility to stop racism in all its forms. Sadly, July 4th, 1776 was not a declaration of independence for our black brothers and sisters. It’s time to correct the past and move toward a brighter future!
