“Vivian.”
The classic Nude communicates Humanity in its purest form.
Paintings of the male & female nude have withstood the test of time. Capturing the essence of beauty is a challenge. As an art student, I had entire semesters of painting the nude figure from live models. Painting the human form is always a new exploration of color, composition, and beauty.
I no longer have the luxury of painting from live models, but, thanks to the internet, I discovered Croquis Cafe, which is an entire website dedicated to artists and models. It is really beautiful. Vivian is painted from a reference image I purchased from Croquis Cafe. Which helps support the models and helps me make meaningful art!
Please enjoy this beautiful painting of Vivian. It is a classic pose. I added some contemporary features — the abstract background and artistic liberties with skin color, values, and line.
As always, I hope my paintings communicate the most important art of all — the art of being human.
