#30Faces30Days Sktchy App Challenge

"Looking Towards the Sky." Charcoal & Watercolor. The wonderful muse for this painting is from the sktchyapp #30Faces30Day Challenge. I love the model's upward gaze. I was challenged to use a charcoal powder in this portrait. I loved it. I actually painted with the charcoal powder. Shannon’s hair i mixed the charcoal with a bit of water. The subtle shadows are made with a brush dipped into the actual charcoal powder. So fun! I added a bit of watercolor for the subtle color in Shannon’s hairband and lips.

I am so thankful for all the inspiring muses that lend their images to artists like myself for this April 2020 Sktchy #30Faces30Days Challenge.

All the portraits are soulful. Many are contemplative, some are humorous. Each one digs deep into the soul of the muse who inspired the portrait.

It has been lots of work to make a portrait each day. I miss a day here and there and just try to catch as I go! But, this challenge has been so fun. Each day I look forward to the next muse and making their portrait!

I hope you enjoy all these beautiful faces. I have so much fun making these drawings & watercolors. My goal is to eventually put poetry to most of them!
