Cassandra’s smirk is timeless and a bit mysterious. Starting with the infamous “Gioconda smile,” artists like me strive to create mystery and soulfulness in our portraits. I was inspired by Cassandra’s straightforward glance and her mysterious smirk! I hope she has captured your curiosity and her glance has you mesmerized.
The reference photo is black and white - I am always compelled to add color to all my work! For Cassandra, a red beret seemed fitting. The background texture is due to the piece of corrugated cardboard I have been using as a drawing board. I cannot find my legit drawing board anywhere! It’s lost in my studio somewhere!
I love this portrait, I hope you do too. It was a challenge that I enjoyed!
The original charcoal drawing is matted, framed and ready to hang in your home or office!
Drawing is 9x12 inches on Toned Strathmore paper. The framed size is 16x20 inches.

As always, I had to make it. I had to share it. Please enjoy it as much as I enjoy creating it. Let me know your thoughts!
I take every step to ensure this online image is as accurate as possible to the original drawing. However variations in color may occur due to monitor differences.
