Portrait Study in “Shades of Grey”

I painted this portrait of Jonathan Williamson as a study in “black & white.” However, I never use “black” paint straight from a tube. I make my own black with French Marine Blue and Burnt Umber. I feel it’s a more realistic “black.” Mainly, because black is not really a color!

I hope you enjoy this painting, it is dramatic and I think it would go well with an “industrial” style decor. But, ha, it’s art so it goes with everything!
