I named this painting of Danny Ruiz “Light Within The Frame,” because usually, the light source of a painting is outside of the painting. The light source in this painting is the lit match and the fire from the lit match provides the light source on Danny! I love this concept and it’s my only painting with the light source outside the frame!

I am so thankful for all the inspiring muses that lend their images to artists like myself for this April 2020 Sktchy #30Faces30Days Challenge.

All the portraits are soulful. Many are contemplative, some are humorous. Each one digs deep into the soul of the muse who inspired the portrait.

It has been lots of work to make a portrait each day. I miss a day here and there and just try to catch as I go! But, this challenge has been so fun. Each day I look forward to the next muse and making their portrait!

I hope you enjoy all these beautiful faces. I have so much fun making these drawings in charcoal, ink, & watercolors. My goal is to eventually put poetry/quotes to most of them!
